The Captain’s Chair was created from a lifelong passion for Star Trek and a growing realization of how meaningful this universe has been in my life. What started as collecting has evolved into a deeper interest in understanding the stories, characters, and history behind Star Trek trading cards.
I have watched every series—including the newest shows—and enjoy attending Star Trek events to connect with the community, take photos, and collect autographs. While meeting actors in person is special, trading card autographs have become my favorite way to preserve those connections—especially for stars who are no longer accessible.
From Collector to Analyst
Over time, I began to notice something:
Not all trading cards carry the same meaning or value.
Some cards represent real, screen-used history or iconic characters, while others may appear similar but lack that deeper connection. I started paying closer attention to these differences—especially between true worn memorabilia and more generic “authentic material.”
This site is where I will share those observations, insights, and discoveries with other collectors.
Why This Matters to Me
Star Trek has always stood for something bigger—exploration, resilience, and the idea of infinite diversity in infinite combinations.
Those values have taken on even more meaning for me personally, and The Captain’s Chair has become a way to combine that philosophy with my passion for collecting and learning.
